Phonetic Descriptions
Phoneme: A distinct sound in language used for forming words. Common convention places narrow transcriptions within brackets, and broad transcriptions within slashes; English speakers percieve the correct pronunciation of to be /bʌtɹ/, but a more accurate depiction of what occurs in actual speech is similar to [bʌɾɹ]. Different languages make different phonemic distinctions, and the languages of Șotuŧahtěnu are extremely diverse. Where in some languages, speakers hear a distinct different between /m̥/ and /m/, others cannot.
